Bush is NOT responsible for the hurricane hitting us down here. This is NOT punishment for the sins of the French Quarter in New Orleans. And it PISSES ME THE HECK OFF that people are trying to blame and politic when people are down here dying and dead. THOUSANDS. Please, stop posting all these articles all over the place about how the above are what caused it. You think it really helps anyone down here to assign blame? You think it makes us feel better about the situation? This only detracts from the important issue of protecting the living. There are better ways to spend your time -- donate to the red cross or give blood or volunteer.

You think it makes us feel better about the situation? The subtle use of 'us'. Perhaps since you don't know the author very well, from an RP if I'm not mistaken, but this is a blatant reference to her location.

Did you know she's been displaced for the last week? If you play with her characters, you think you would have noticed. There are notes in her journals. Or maybe you just didn't care.

I don't think a lack of compassion is something that has anything to do with being a liberal or a conservative. It has something to do with being a heartless bitch.

Personally I think there's enough blame to spread around to Bush, his administration, the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of LA and their administrations, the looters and at least some of the people who didn't get out when they could. But hopefully once everyone is evacuated and the place is cleaned up, the people involved can concentrate on figuring out how to improve things so reponse to the next disaster is more effective.

well you see, the governor already knew about the levees being messed up BEFORE the hurricane. he asked for the money to repair them, and bush refused to give him the money.

i'm not saying it's totally his fault, but i'm just saying it wouldn't be as bad as it is if he would've just given new orleans the money to fix the levees.
