Peace, Love and Understanding
Spoilers: Alias – Through Season 4 for sure
Rating: PG
Summary: A conversation between Jack Bristow and Eric Weiss
Agent Eric Weiss walked in and handed Jack Bristow his report, then turned to leave. He had several more to fill out and not nearly enough time to do it.
“Agent Weiss.” Funny how Jack seemed to be able to make anything a statement, without even looking up from his own work. “I believe we need to talk for a moment.”
Okay, so now Weiss was finding himself curious as he had no idea what Jack Bristow might care to talk to him about. The mission had gone well, his actions were beyond reproach. He wordlessly turned back and sat down across the desk, waiting for Jack to finish his paperwork… and waiting… and waiting…
‘Typical badass Bristow tactic’, Weiss thought absently as he began to drum his fingers on the desk.
A moment later he caught Jack staring at him in very clear annoyance. “Are you finished Agent Weiss?”
“Oh. Sorry,” he replied, shrugging sheepishly.
“I understand that you and Agent Santos are seeing each other.” Again, a statement, not a question.
“And I understand that it is none of your business,” he responded in like tone. Very few people would have dared say those words to Bristow’s face, but he wasn’t letting anyone poke their nose into his relationships.
Jack’s cold façade softened almost imperceptibly. “I have no intention of telling you what to do, merely a cautionary word. Unlike Sydney, Nadia grew up in this life and you know as well as I do that this life is filled with lies and deceit.”
Jack said no more, feeling that his meaning was clear. He merely stared at Weiss with a cold, hard stare, a gaze which Weiss met and matched for a long moment. “I understand.”
“Good. That’s all.”
