Eric Weiss' new job was great. He loved it and as much as he was reluctant to admit it, he liked the promotion a lot as well, the higher position of influence. And he'd never been much of an ambitious guy either. He'd been happy as a clam to do his job and try to take out the bad guys.
And okay, well as great as the new job was, some things sucked. No field work at all. He liked getting out of the field some, but the completely being cut off from doing that was irritating. He'd gotten so used to it the last few years, of being there to lead a team in for a raid, or some op. Now he got to sit around in a suit and tie with a bunch of other suits and advise people on the best decision for field agents. And I'm no longer one of them.
Worst of all, his position with his friends had changed. He was no longer right there. He couldn't walk a few doors down to Syd's apartment and hang out with her and get drunk. He couldn't even see his family because they lived all the way across the country. He'd called Sydney last night even, but it wasn't the same.
For the first time in his life, Los Angeles wasn't home. He'd been born and raised there, had gone to UCLA for his degree and now was in Washington D.C. of all places.
